"Everything is different now
Don't get on that plane.
Why don't you just stay with me forever"

another day, another airport
another destination, another bed.
she laughs at the monotony of the adventure.

same is different now, some how.  something missing, something big and something oh so small. someday perhaps.

wandering the halls of this port, watching the people.  suits and ties, moms and strollers, wanderers, rushers, day dreamers.  i often wonder what the lives of the other travelera consist of.  making up stories of what I think they might be.  you can't know a person just by looking at them.  assumptions are often wrong and farfetched at best.  those that you do get to know though, really know and connect with are harder to let go of.

saying goodbye has never been easy for me yet somehow i do it almost daily.  letting this person in, reconnecting with that one, sacrificing for the other one. giver, helper, counselor, listener, mom without the baby.   i want everyone to be happy often at the sacrifice of my own.

karma points...  check please, this one's on me.

clearer still

©Chris Meredith- sydney

there's this thing that happens when you close your eyes and can't see
sometimes the actuality becomes clearer
no longer blinded by the daily distractions
no longer frustrated by the reality of you.

just you and the darkness and the insides of your eyes.
what's behind the blinking blues?
why is it that the one thing is always askew?

hand extended waiting
bated breath
connection made, time stands still
when the light is frozen
the blur ceases to exist

sunshine

enjoying the light and the gentle breeze of lalaland.  appropriately nicknamed since its so easy to not take life seriously here.  enveloped in perfect weather, surrounded by seemingly perfect albeit plastic people, life is grand and almost perfect.  I sit with my friend Mac and we watch the droves of people walk by with the reflective sunglasses to conceal the real them as they watch the parade of ridiculously over priced cars from the hills drive along the strip. Each one flashier than the next and often more expensive than the drivers can afford.   what ever makes you happy people.   Oh to live in a dream world, i suppose i do...

yep.

Sydney is a beautiful city filled with wonderful people with an energy that makes my soul smile.  i shot with my lovely friend Chris Meredith.  After a silly shoot in a cramped studio we went to his gallery show.  Great display of work at the show and i'm not just being biased when i say Chris's images were the best in show.  He got an award for the image that we did last summer.  I love it here.
